“You’ve been in a kayak before but this sea kayak you’re in feels so different. It glides through the water with so little effort you have plenty of time to look up at the cliffs you’re paddling under. Up ahead you see a cave that you have got to go in and explore, now which way was it that you had to edge these kayaks to help them turn?”

This course is for those that have tried some form of kayaking at least once before and would now like to try sea kayaking. We will look at sea kayak specific boat handling skills, safety, weather and tides; while getting out and exploring the coast too. We will work on skills to help you get to the BCU 2 Star. By the end of the course you should have a fairly good idea if sea kayaking is something you want to take forward and how you might do that.
