Introduction to Sea Kayak Expeditioning

This two day course is aimed to give those new to sea kayaking a taste for overnight trips, however more experienced paddlers will also gain from the discussion based teaching style. We will look at trip planning, the effects of the weather, selecting equipment, packing your boat and how to paddle a loaded boat. We will then paddle to one of the remote camp spots on the island where we will look at setting up camp, campsite cooking and maybe even a spot of fishing. As the sun sets we will build a fire to cook our catch and a few other bits and pieces and share a drink or too around it before turning in for a night under the stars. This is an ideal course for people looking to plan their first sea kayaking trip or for those looking for a bonding experience with friends or family.

Sea Kayak Circumnavigation of Anglesey

This five day expedition is a challenge that is on the tick list of many sea kayakers. We're not looking to break any records (which is 10hrs 30mins by the way) but to get around and enjoy it as we do. Weather is the key factor and will determine the tactics even more than the tide. You need to have had experience camping from a sea kayak before and be close to the BCU three star level. If you are unsure about your ability feel free to ring up and have a chat.
